Over 50 years ago, John K. Vogel left a steady job to start something of his own. In the early days, he personally took orders, put his horse out to pasture prior to manufacturing the metal shapes himself, then delivered them—sleeping in the back of his box truck on long trips.
What began as a one-man operation quickly grew into a trusted name in the flooring industry. Today, National Metal Shapes continues John’s legacy—blending decades of expertise with forward-thinking innovation. From carpet metals to ceramic, terrazzo, and now precision waterjet designs, we’ve continually evolved to meet the industry’s demands.
